Mrs. Lila Anne Tulin, daughter of the late Irving E. Cutting and Vera Cutting was born March 2nd, 1925 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. She moved to Mansfield/Storrs Connecticut and became a Registered Nurse (RN) at Windham Hospital in Willimantic. As an RN, she became a devoted school nurse for Mansfield Middle School from 1968-1985. She had a generous and caring spirit, often sharing fond memories she had during her tenure as a nurse for the children.
Settling in 1967 in Mansfield/Storrs, she was married to the late Irving E. Tulin for over 50 years. She was blessed with three children: the late Skippy Tulin, Timothy Charles Tulin, and the late Christopher Normal Tulin.
Lila enjoyed many years with Irving traveling across the US, entertaining family and guests at their Connecticut home, and spending time with her many cherished friends. She liked to experiment cooking recipes and is most affectionately remembered for serving her famous “Ribbon Sandwiches” and making her delicious one-of-a-kind Christmas cookies each holiday season.
She was a wood sculpture and an avid birdwatcher, often carving birds and various figurines as one of her favorite hobbies. She shared frequent occasions with dear friends having weekly lunches, traveling to New York for shopping sprees, and other excursions. She had a giving spirit and supported many local charities in Connecticut alongside her friends.
As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the birds that she so loved, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She moved to Indianapolis Indiana under the care of her son, Timothy, in 2015, where she settled at Hamilton Trace in Fishers Indiana. She quietly departed this life Monday, March 4th, 2019 at Hamilton Trace Hospice in Fishers Indiana.
A small family gathering to celebrate her life will be held in Noblesville Indiana on March 30th, 2019 and a formal ceremony will be held in Mansfield/Storrs in the Spring/Summer of 2019 where she will be laid to rest.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family. Her son Timothy Charles Tulin; granddaughters Ami Elizabeth Philpott and Jennifer Lee Tulin; 6 great grandchildren Miles, Lila, Claire, Brennan, Graham, and Meadow; and a host of devoted friends.
