David E. Starks Jr., 27, Indianapolis, IN passed away April 6, 2018.
David Earl Starks, Jr. “Man Man” was born on August 23, 1990 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the parents of David E. Starks, Sr. and Tonya Ford-Starks-Booker.
“Man Man” at an early age in life professed a hope in Christ and was baptized at Holy Trinity Community Church, where he sang in the children’s choir and was part of the youth program.
“Man Man” attended Southport High School and played football as a wide receiver and basketball as a small forward. He then went straight into the work force as an employee for Fed Ex and Walmart, where he was later promoted as Department Manager.
“Man Man” was a loving and outgoing person who was loved by many. He could make a song about anything. “Man Man” was a comedian in his own world who loved to take pictures, photo bomb, and hang with his friends and family. His favorite foods were cereal, noodles, taco salad, and cheeseburgers.
In his leisure time “Man Man” enjoyed playing video games, music, traveling and sports which led to him becoming a coach at the Best Choice Fieldhouse where his son’s played basketball.
David “Man Man” was a loving father and friend. There was nothing he would not do for his children, family or friends. He always had a saying “It’s all love”.
David “Man Man” was preceded in death by his grandfather, Preston Ford; older brother, David Farral; and his best friend/brother, Michael Boyd.
He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Tonya Ford-Starks-Booker; father, David Earl Starks, Sr.; grandparents, Etta Joan Ford, Gertrude Haliburton, Robert “Bobby” Haliburton; sisters, Crystal Starks, Shakia Johnson, Tennille Starks, Amber Starks, Tasha Farral, Kelsea, Heather, Aishia, Paige; brothers, Devon Starks, Derek Hayden; his children, Kamyah, David “Manny”, Davian, Da’Marion Starks; step-son, Marquis; and fiancé’ Briana Harney; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be truly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 at noon at St. Luke’s Baptist Church, 5325 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service and burial to follow at New Crown Cemetery.
