Windy Jo (King) Lanning
On the evening of August 7, 2023, at 7:59 p.m., Windy Jo (King) Lanning was found deceased. Windy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the seventh child of Robert R. King and Ethel V. Laughlin King.
Windy is survived by her daughter, Amber Lanning (Christian Smith), sons, Gage B. Lanning, Tony Lanning; seven brothers and sisters, Robert L. King, William L. King, Rusty King, Shawn King, Sharon L. Stringer (Pete Stringer), Rhonda F. King, and Dawn M. Turpin (King). Windy also had two grandchildren Leilah Smith, Amber Lanning’s daughter and Brooklyn Lanning, Tony Lanning’s daughter.
Windy is proceeded in death by her mother, Ethel V. Laughlin-King father, Robert R. King; sister, Karen K. Jordan; brothers, Robert L. King II, Robby J. King; and Scott Allan Lanning (Lifetime-Love).
Windy King Lanning was a beloved mother who always showed generosity and kindness towards others, no matter the situation, everyone was treated equally. Windy dealt with mental health issues since she was a teen but no matter what she was dealing with, she always thought about others first. We cannot express how much Windy is loved and will be missed by so many people. We should not overlook the good and focus solely on the bad. Everyone has bad days and Windy was no stranger to those. Even when she had bad days, she never allowed this to affect her character. Windy understood that no one is perfect, but everyone deserves a chance. I want to make sure anyone reading this knows that Windy had a relationship with Jesus Christ, and she is now home with Him. We must look to encourage and support the family of Windy Jo King Lanning.
