William "Rick" Wiese

William Richard Wiese "Rick" stepped into glory on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 7:30 a.m. at the Franciscan Hospice house in Indianapolis. Rick was born in Indianapolis on February 29, 1940 - Leap Day!!  He was the only child of William Wiese and Vera Wenz Wiese, who preceded him in death. Rick attended Howe High School and then graduated from Southport High School in 1957. He went on to get his mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University.

Rick married Theresa McNeill Beaver "Terri" on September 23, 1978, and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

Rick is survived by three of his children, Lynn Williams, Jeffrey Wiese (Marie) and Lori Kinder (Steven); his stepson, Tony Beaver (Monica); and 8 grandchildren, Austin Kinder, Nick Kinder, Nathan Wiese, Emma Wiese, Jacob Wiese, Tristan Beaver, Ruby Beaver, and Lucy Beaver. Rick's fourth child, our beloved William Frederick Wiese, preceded him in death in 2003.

Rick was a genius mechanical engineer and for 20 years had his own business, Multiple Resource Solutions, Inc. He loved to help manufacturers solve their challenges with state-of-the-art laser, robotics, and his own ideas! He particularly liked to mentor and raise up co-workers and encourage them to their highest potential.

Rick was a gifted Mr. Fixit around the house and loved fixing things and taking care of the lawn. He loved all animals and spent many hours feeding birds in the backyard and then watching them! He was so kind and gentle that he would not kill bugs, he would capture them and carry them outside, even stink bugs!

Rick was a lifelong Christian, wonderful man, husband, father, and friend. He was a gifted bass singer and loved the music of the Gaithers, going to many concerts and watching them every chance he got on TV. He also loved any beaches and boats, including his Century wooden boat he had for many years.

Rick's family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at St. Francis Hospital, who took such good care and gave personal attention to Rick during his 13 days there. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Franciscan Hospice House. They took kind and loving care of Rick and the family for the 5 days that he was there. Also, a very special personal thanks to Patty and Rick Redmond. 

Visitation is Monday, November 20, 2023, 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm.

Burial to follow on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana. Burial is private to family.
