William Vernon Keye

June 6, 1947 — December 13, 2019

William Vernon Keye was born June 6, 1947 in Todd County, Kentucky to the late Sterling Bell Keye and Celestial Lowe Keye. He attended Wallfield Middle School in Guthrie, Kentucky. He worked for a furniture moving company in the 1980s.

On December 13, 2019 God sent his Angels to take William home to rest.

He confessed his Faith in Christ. He loved reading his Bible. He paid his tithes. Psalms Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Douglas Tate Jr. would take his time out to go to Mr. Keye's home to talk and pray with him. William was a good man. He loved to help everyone. A lot of times he would give his last music spiritual "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and Gladys Knight "Midnight Train to Georgia."

William was preceded in death by three brothers: Alford C. Keye, Sterling Bell Keye Jr., and Henry Raymond Keye. He was also preceded in death by his loving partner of 44 years, Ruth Ann Motley. He will be forever loved and remembered by his daughter, Nancy Motley Jones (David); Dontesz Motley (Aries); grandchildren, Shaniqua R. Williams and Damya M. Motley; great-grandchild, A.J. Adrian L. Allen; brother, Frank James Keye; three sisters, Tereasa Majors, Cherie Keye, and Christina Keye; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends, especially his best friend, June.
