Bill was a technician operator for WTHR channel 13 for the past 34 years before retiring in August. He had many close friendships from his time there and memories. He was a HUGE Indianapolis Colts fan, even during the bad seasons he would say. He took pleasure in knowing they had won the Super bowl! He also loved the University of Michigan football as well as the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He always held out hope the Lions would win a super bowl someday. Bill’s biggest achievement and sense of pride and joy were his children. Whether it be riding bikes, playing video games or talking about the cats and his dog, Buppy, with them. He loved the boys and the animals so much. Bill had a wicked and witty sense of humor that many friends and family would sometimes just shake their head at. Some even said “you should have been a comedian” to which he would have some witty comment as a reply. We are so grateful for the staff at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield Indiana for taking great care of him as well as Ascension St. Vincent Hospital for taking over his care in his final hours. Bill had always wished and expressed for his remains to be cremated and spread in several different locations. His family will have a private service to honor his passing and spreading of his ashes as well as the ashes of our beloved dog, Buppy who passed on Wednesday December 9, 2020. A remembrance service will be held at a future time where all are welcome to join and celebrate his life. He never wanted anyone to cry over his passing, we all know that is impossible to do, instead he would want us to smile and think why is he smiling? Those wishing to honor Bill’s life may send contributions to a trust for the Hineman children, 609 Westview Ct, Dewitt, MI 48820.
