William James Stephan

William James Stephan 79, of Carmel, Indiana passed away Friday, March 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen and three daughters: Amy Stephan-Babcock (John), Sarah Stephan, and Amanda Stephan Lopez (Jose) and granddaughters: June Babcock, Sophia, and Camilla Lopez. He is predeceased by his parents Della and Thomas and three brothers: Thomas, Richard, and David Stephan and will be missed by so many.

Bill graduated from the University of Cincinnati and served in the US Army Reserves. He then began a career in human resources and most recently was employed by the State of Indiana.

Bill loved his family and all things "Cincinnati" including the Bengals, the Reds, Skyline Chili, Graeter's and goetta. Bill enjoyed the theater, singing and all kinds of music. An early riser, he made the best breakfasts, was an avid tomato gardener and lived life to its fullest. Always on the go, he also enjoyed searching the weekend edition of the paper for fun family activities to keep everyone entertained.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road in Carmel, Indiana at 10:15 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. His burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road in Indianapolis, Indiana immediately following. A luncheon will be held at the church after burial services.
