William "Bill" Frank Burrell, 81, passed away at Eskanazi Hospital on April 26, 2024. He was born October 21, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to James and Helen Burrell.
Bill was retired from AT&T, following a long career that began at age 17. A 1960 Greenwood High School graduate, he held a computer science degree from Purdue University. Bill was a veteran of US Army (artillery), having served in Germany in the late 1960's. A lifelong Indianapolis area resident, he was a proud member of the die Fledermäuschen Tanzgruppe German folk dance group and Dans Norden, a Scandinavian dance troupe. He was also a former board member of the German American Klub of Indianpolis, and was happiest when wearing his lederhosen during Oktoberfest. He enjoyed stamp collecting, jigsaw puzzles and game shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Burrell.
Bill is surived by two sons, Mark (Dawn) Burrell of Arkansas and Jamie (Tresa) Burrell of Indianapolis; brother, Don (Barb) Burrell of Indianapolis; two sisters, Barbara (Mike) Moon of Texas and Sherri (Gene) Monteith of Ohio; five grandchildren, Emily Burrell, Jessica Burrell, Helen (Payam) Chitsazan, Hogan (Brogan) Burrell, and Hope (Jack) Snider; one great grandson, Scotty Jack Snider.
A small private family gathering will be held at a later date.
