Wallace E. Knauss, 92, passed away on March 3, 2025, at Traditions at Brookside in McCordsville, IN. He was born March 13, 1932, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Edwin Knauss and Esther (White) Knauss. After completing his education, he later met and married his wife, JoAnn (Moreton) Knauss, and together they spent over 50 years by each other’s side, raising their family and watching their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in sporting events.
Wally worked much of his life for RCA as a cost analyst. He was a hard-working man, who had many joys in life. Wally was an active member of Castleview Baptist Church. He served as both a deacon and a worker in the Awana program with his wife. Wally enjoyed golfing, working outside on projects, as well working in his flowers. He and JoAnn also enjoyed bowling in a bowling league. Wally also went on several mission trips with JoAnn.
Wally took pride in being a family man who looked forward to vacations with grandkids, playing cards and games during family gatherings, and whose greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his family, who will all miss him very much.
Wally is survived by his son, Ron Knauss; daughters, Judi (Greg) Gillon and Barb (Randy)Humerickhouse; daughter-in-law, Lorri Knauss; grandchildren, Chrissy (Chris) Richey, Kyle (Heather) Gillon, Kim (Tim) Rohr, Kevin (Emily) Gillon, Corey Knauss, Andrew Knauss, and Becca (Carl) Alan; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Edwin and Esther Knauss, he was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Knauss; son, Rick Knauss; and two grandchildren, Thad Gillon and Melissa Humerickhouse.
Services for Wallace will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11am at Heather Hills Baptist Church, 1421 N German Church Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Friends and family are welcome to gather for a visitation from 9:00am – 11:00am at the church prior to services. Burial to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Castleview Baptist Church Awana Program.
