Virginia “Ginny” Kay Piotrowicz, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 25, 2020. She is survived by her children, Roger Scott (April) Piotrowicz, Robin (Roberto) Paz, Brian (Terri) Piotrowicz, and Kay Piotrowicz; grandchildren, Adam (Heather), Kelsey (Nathaniel), Elizabeth, Maria, Richard (Dayle), and Ashley; great grandchildren, Hunter, Elliot, Lily, Hazel, Kaiden, Callie; and siblings, Ron (Marcia) Carlson, Kathie (Frank) Long, Chris (Mike) Cruse, and Rick Carlson; and many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her her husband, Richard “Dick”, mother Dorothy and father, Clarence.
Ginny was born on February 7, 1941 in Morrison, Illinois to Clarence and Dorothy (Awald) Carlson. She married her high school sweetheart, Dick, on December 16, 1960. Ginny retired from Memorial Home Care after 25 plus years as a home health aide.
Ginny was a long time member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Northern Indiana. She loved serving the Lord and helping others as a Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher, volunteering at nursing homes and the Chapel Rock Christian Church food pantry. She was involved in church senior groups and Women’s Bible Studies.
Her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and friends was evident by her support and dedication to attend sports events, dance and music recitals, art exhibits, and grandparents days at school.
She loved being outdoors to enjoy God’s beauty whether at a baseball park, traveling to new places, working in the garden or with flowers in the backyard or watching the neighborhood on the front porch.
She was a dedicated Cubs fan, enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and attending Michael W. Smith concerts. Her siblings, extended family and many friends were so important to her and she loved spending time with them all at family gatherings, reunions and events.
The family plans to hold a celebration of her life in Spring of 2021. Donations may be made in Ginny’s honor to any of the following:
