Virginia Lee (O’Brien) Taylor, 73, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on December 24, 2020.
She was born Tuesday, April 1, 1947 to Joe and Violet (Hiatt) O’Brien in Indianapolis, Indiana. She met her husband Gary when they were just kids living in the same neighborhood growing up together. Years later they started dating and married on January 23, 1965 and were married one month shy of 56 years.
Virginia taught Sunday School for many years. She loved to sing and was part of her church choir. She also loved cooking and baking and writing poetry. Her passion in life was her husband Gary and their children, Kent and Kathi. She loved spending time with her grandchildren anytime she could.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Gary R. Taylor; son, Kent Taylor, and his wife Cherie; daughter, Kathi Bryant, and her husband Dan; grandchildren, Tommy Young, Jacqueline Fernandez, Abbey Sarringhaus, Nathan Taylor, Emma Taylor, Sierra Bryant, Gabrielle Bryant; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, George O’Brien, Bobby O’Brien, Jerry O’Brien; sister, Gloria Hurley; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe, and Violet O’Brien; brother, Kenny O’Brien, and sister, Myrtle Hughey.
There will be graveside services on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana. Graveside will be limited to 50 people, immediate and extended family. You may attend and watch from your car or drive by the grave to pay respect.
