Vickie J. Berry, 62, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 22, 1959, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Mary M. (Stainbrook) Rairdon.
Survivors include son Christopher Schmehr of Amarillo, Texas; step-mother, Ruth Rairdon of Shelbyville; sisters, Rita Holt, Mary Anne Schaf, and Carla Linville, all of Shelbyville, Susan Clouse of Columbus, and Charlotte Bryzek of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, Charles E. Rairdon Jr. of Trafalgar; brother-in-law, Bernie Byers of Shelbyville; grandson, Isaiah Smith of Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including best friends, Ginger Smith and Sondra Webb, who was like a bonus sister.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; step-father, Hubert Brinson; sons, Jason Smith and Jeffrey Reed; sisters, Patty (Brinson) Byers and Connie Kirby; and brother, Mike Brinson.
Vickie worked at Nice-Pak for seven years. She had started working part-time at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2021 where she assisted with various types of events.
Vickie enjoyed gardening and worked at Paul’s nursey in the summer for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson who she loved with her whole heart. A huge Colts fan, she could be found tailgating before games if she wasn’t at work. She also loved camping and being on the lake.
She had become an avid 5K participant and attended four during the year 2021 alone.
Vickie was never hesitant to help a family member or friend in need. She had a huge heart full of love.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. Funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm.
Vickie will be laid to rest at Union Chapel Cemetery in St. Paul, Indiana at a later date.
