It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Vicki Allen, who unexpectedly left us on March 6, 2025, at the young age of 66. She is now reunited with her family in Heaven. Born on October 27, 1958, to Walter and Eleanor (Clark) Deppe, Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bob and Wayne.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Tony Allen with whom they had four daughters: Melissa Crist (Jason Wurtzel), Nicole Locke (Jason Locke), Christina Ahnafield (Brandon Ahnafield), and Theresa Nichols. Vicki was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Emily, Carlie, Elijah, Lauren, Brooklynn, Raegan, Ella, and Caedon. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Milani, who brought her much happiness.
Vicki dedicated her life to her family. A selfless stay-at-home Mom, Vicki committed herself to raising her daughters and ensuring they received a great education while allowing them to be involved in CYO and sports, chauffeuring them around to and from. Once her grandchildren were born, Vicki opened her heart and home by running an in-home daycare, offering love and care to her grandchildren. Later, she worked at Perry Meridian High School and PL Marketing, but her greatest joy always remained with her family.
Vicki and Tony loved traveling to Tennessee, where they spent many wonderful times in the Smoky Mountains, staying in log cabins and creating lasting memories together. In addition to their travels, Vicki cherished camping at Shakamak with Tony, where they spent 25 memory-filled years. She shared many of her husband’s passions which included relaxing on their boat fishing and growing a thriving vegetable garden. Vicki also enjoyed bird watching and crocheting, making many beautiful blankets and adorable gifts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vicki had a true green thumb; colorful flowers surrounded their garden and home, and Vicki carried that love of flowers and plants indoors as well. Her love for gardening extended to canning vegetables from their garden and preparing home-cooked meals and desserts.
A selfless caregiver, Vicki always put the needs of others before her own. She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her dedication to family, and friends. Her sleepovers with her grandchildren were a special time that she cherished deeply. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR and IndyCar races, another hobby she shared with her husband Tony.
Vicki’s legacy of love, devotion, and care will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
All who knew and loved Vicki are invited to join the family in honoring her memory. Public viewing will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 12:30pm - 3pm. Funeral service to follow from 3pm - 4pm.
