Vadis L. Davis

Vadis L. Davis, 92, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Ball Memorial Hospital. Vadis was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 16, 1931, to Plennis and Clara Davis. He was one of 7 children. Vadis joined the United States Air Force where he served and was honorably discharged. He later retired from a career at General Motors. He was a long-time member of the Freemasons, Knights of Pythias, Lions Club, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. With a generous heart and a love for Christ, Vadis was involved in giving and supporting the local community. Because of his giving in town, he was known as “The Candy Man”. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Ferrel Eugene, Arlo, Plennis, and Edna; and grandson, Mitchell Cox. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Davis. Along with his wife, he leaves behind his siblings Joanne Allen and Tommy Davis; three children, Gary Davis (Joanne), Suzanne Cox (Gib Bradford), and Scott Davis (Jill); three grandchildren, Casey Cox (Jancie), Tanner Davis (Kortney), and Morgan Davis; and multiple great grandchildren.
