Urs Kuederli

May 5, 1951 — May 15, 2021

Urs “Sam” Kuederli passed on May 15, 2021 while doing what he loved-- hiking with a good friend. He was born in Dubendorf, Switzerland on May 5, 1951. He came to the United States in 1976 after meeting and marrying his wife Marla Sue in Switzerland. She was working there at the time. They only knew each other for 6 months before marrying and returning to the United States. They would celebrate 45 years of marriage on June 2, 2021. Urs worked with Leica Microscopes and became a dealer and part owner in his company W. Nuhsbaum, Inc. His knowledge and service to his customers was highly respected and valued. He loved the mountains, good chocolate, and good cheese-- a part of his Swiss heritage. He served in a highly specialized branch of the Swiss Military called the Swiss Grenadiers, which was reflected in his snow skiing. His daughter Marsee and family live in Colorado and he has enjoyed spending much time out there hiking several fourteeners. He even got to hike a couple with his oldest grandson- Cole Thomas. In January 2021, he went to the mountains in Colorado and got to ski with his grandchildren- Cole, Cooper, and Charlotte and his daughter, Marsee and son-in-law, Preston. It was a time he cherished as he could “wow” his grandchildren with his skiing expertise. We are so grateful he could have that time with them.
He loved animals, dogs especially, and they loved him. When he was in Colorado, one of his favorite things was walking Marsee’s two black labs. He knew and made so many friends out there. He always greeted the other “dog people” and introduced himself as the proud father and grandfather of the Parsons’ Family.
He was the most loyal husband, father, grandfather, and friend anyone could hope for. His family was everything to him.
His friends enjoyed his Swiss raclettes and fondues. He loved sharing this part of his Swiss heritage with them. He lately was enjoying pickleball with good friends and loved the camaraderie and competition. He was a fierce competitor.
He took such good care of his family and never said no when help was needed.
His wife, Marla, was the luckiest girl in the world to have this fine man for her husband and soul mate.
He is survived by his wife, Marla; daughter, Marsee; son-in-law, Preston; grandchildren, Cole Thomas Parsons (13 years old), Cooper Cash Parsons (11 years old), and Charlotte Grace Parsons (9 years old). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sabrina Lee Kuederli.
No services are planned at this time, but his care has been entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
Memorial contributions in Urs’ memory may be made to the ASPCA.
