Tonya Lynn Meyer, 57, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on January 25, 2020. She was born to parents, Alice Robinson and Robert Johnson, on March 17, 1962 in Hicksville, Ohio.
Tonya was known by her friends and family as a true adventure seeker. She would often tell intriguing stories of the fun she had speeding across Lake Monroe on jet skis, leaping from 60-foot high cliffs into the turquoise blue-ocean water while vacationing in Mexico or crawling into a Zorb ball and zooming down large hills in Gatlinburg’s Smokey Mountains.
She was a devoted Christian who faithfully read her Bible and dedicated the remainder of her life to serving the Lord. On November 26, 2015, she received her certificate of ordination and became a licensed minister.
Despite her countless hardships growing up, she was a devoted mother who made enormous sacrifices to give her son an extraordinary life. She cherished her friends and family and above all, her grandson, William, whom she loved dearly.
Tonya is survived by her son, Robert (Natividad) Hicks; grandson, William Hicks; two brothers, Daniel (Donna) Johnson and Billy Wilburn; and four sisters, Tina Bynum, Tammy Johnson, Kimberly Roseberry, and Angela (Johnny) Smith.
The family has entrusted Indiana Funeral Care with her arrangements. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Indiana Funeral Care on February 17, 2020 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Pastor Larry Loyd will officiate the ceremony.
