Tom Moore

Tom Moore passed away on January 21, 2025, leaving the world with a little less mischief and a lot less fun.

He is survived by his wife of many years, Earlene; his daughter, Gina (Randy); his siblings, Doug and Vicki (Clayton); and his niece and nephew, Deanna (Seth) and Clay. Tom will also be deeply missed by many cherished friends and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Donna Moore, as well as his brothers, Ricky and Greg.

A graduate of Mooresville High School, Tom spent many years working as a welder at AM General and for the railroad. His craftsmanship and skill were evident not only in his work but also in his personal projects-including welding his own boat, which he christened The River Monster.

To know Tom was to know his love of music. He carefully curated a collection of tens of thousands of songs and was always searching for more. A true renaissance man, he was an avid gardener, a devoted college basketball fan, an amateur winemaker, a talented cook, and an experienced fisherman.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no formal funeral or services. His family and friends gathered privately to celebrate his life-with, of course, his iPod playing all his favorite songs.
