Timothy T. Tague, 79, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. A devoted father, cherished mentor, and loyal friend, Tim will be remembered for his kind heart, sharp wit, and his lifelong passion for golf. Tim is preceded in death by his mother and father, Adyline and Wendell Tague, along with his first wife, Adele Harrison Tague. He is survived by his brothers, James and William, and his children, Annie (Greg), Allie (Nick), Nate (Brooke), and Jake (Sarah), along with seven grandchildren.
Born on July 12, 1945, in Harlan, Iowa, Tim discovered his love for golf at an early age and turned that passion into a career. As a professional golf instructor for decades, he guided countless students to better their game while teaching them to love the sport as much as he did. Known for his keen eye, calm patience, and infectious enthusiasm, Tim's impact on the golf community is immeasurable. Over the decades, he taught at many golf clubs around the country, eventually fulfilling his dream of building his own golf facility. Many of his students ended up as lifelong friends.
Off the course, Tim's humor and charm made him a joy to be around. Whether sharing a laugh with friends, mentoring his students, or gathering with family, he had a unique ability to make people feel at ease. His friendships were treasures, and his warmth left a lasting mark on everyone he met. An avid Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Reds fan, Tim's love of sports did not end with golf.
Tim's greatest pride was his role as a father. He adored his four children-Annie, Allie, Nate, and Jake-and taught them lessons that went far beyond the greens. Through his actions, he instilled in them values of integrity, perseverance, and the power of a well-timed joke.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the countless memories shared with friends and family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held in 2025. Please
