Thomas C. Abell

Thomas "Tom" C. Abell, 89, of Clayton, Indiana passed away November 26, 2024, at home.

He was born on September 6, 1935, to the late Hanley C. and Mary Etta (York) Abell in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Tom attended and graduated from Howe High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1954 until 1960. He then graduated from Valparaiso Technical as an Electrical Engineer. He worked for Indianapolis Water Company and then Sears Robuck Company and retired after 33 years. Tom was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church where he served as an elder, a bible schoolteacher and member for over 55 years.

Tom is survived by his children, Matthew Abell (Joni Bible), Tabitha Abell; grandchildren, Logan, Tommy, Griffin, Andy, Jake; brothers, Jerry (Karen) Abell, Richard "Dick" (Janet) Abell and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Agnes P. (Anderson) Abell who passed October 6, 2019. 

Visitation is Friday, December 6, 2024, 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hazelwood Christian Church, Clayton, Indiana.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. 

Graveside service at Clayton Cemetery to immediately follow.
