Thomas R. Eckerty Jr., 72 of Indianapolis, passed away on April 19, 2022.
Thomas was born on September 15, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Thomas R. Eckerty Sr. and Lucy Eckerty Cassidy.
Thomas served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the military, he went on to work at International Harvester for over 30 years before retirement.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rosemary Eckerty; sons, James (Nikki) Eckerty and Michael (Denise) Eckerty; stepchildren, Amanda Hinchley, Sherri (Michael) DeMoss, Michael (Holly) Davis, Larry (Sarah) Davis, Emily Davis, and Justin Reed; grandchildren, Brodie, Alex, Jacob, Trinity, Lillie, Michael Jr, Mason, Morgan, Brooke, Chealsy, Ryan, Dylan, Kori, Jennifer, Parker, and Emmett; great-grandchildren, Colt, Gracie, William, and Leo; sisters, Leona Smukalla, Wanda (Ken) Cargal, and Sarah Grooms; aunt, Nellie Stroud; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 10 am-1 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 1 pm, with a burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to K9’sForWarriors.org or Indiana Parkinson Foundation.
