Thomas passed away in Greenfield, IN. He was born in Wabash, IN to Myrl D and Helen M (Porter) Gamble. He graduated from Wabash High School and Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft Wayne where he became an electrical engineer. Growing up in Wabash, Tom spent time on his grandpa's farm where he raised chickens, pheasants, a pig (named Modoc), tomatoes and strawberries.
After serving in the US Army, Tom spent his career working as an electrical engineer for PSI in Kokomo, I&M Electric Company in Ft Wayne and Muncie, RBM Controls in Logansport, Louisville Cement Company in Logansport, and Eli Lilly in Greenfield. Most of the projects he worked with involved installing HV electrical equipment or starting up new generating plants.
On August 30, 1959 Tom married Barbara Joyce Collins in Indianapolis, IN. They have three sons: Greg (Tricia) of Mason, OH; Scott (Nancy) of Fishers, IN; Eric (Becky) of Raleigh, NC. They gave them eight wonderful grandchildren: Emily (Alek), Zach (Aria), Connor, Carson, Callie, Nathan, Elizabeth and Katelyn along with two great granddaughters.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife and best friend Joyce in 2021; his parents; his sister Linda Dager (Jerry) of New Haven, IN in 2017.
For over 25 years Tom and Joyce enjoyed owning a home on Lake Santee where they enjoyed entertaining family on weekends. Long pontoon rides with grandkids and grand dogs were a favorite pastime they enjoyed while living at the lake. Tom also enjoyed lunches with his buddies, shooting and all types of motor racing.A private service and burial was held at Falls Cemetery in Wabash, IN.
The family would like to thank Dr Michael Fletcher for his exemplary care, dedication and friendship to Tom and Joyce over the last 30 plus years.
