Theresa Marie Thompson

Theresa (Terry) Marie Thompson was born November 30, 1948 in Owosso, Michigan and died at age 73 on January 15, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Terry is survived by cousin James, sisters SaraJane, Alexa and Kathy, nephews, nieces, and many close friends.

Terry will best be remembered for her independent and generous spirit and her great sense of humor. She loved all things garden-related, was a Master Gardener and spent many hours in her own garden, as well as working with the HOA at the Bayswater Community to keep the grounds beautiful (We [HOA] credit resident Terry Thompson for the numerous improvements she made to the landscape of our community. Her vision helped improve the overall look of the property that we enjoy today.). She beautified the gardens of family and friends with her painted rocks, birdhouses, and garden posts. Terry was a collector of ornamental suns, accumulating well over 300, all displayed in and around her home. Complementing her many suns, she surrounded herself with Southwestern art, adding in a fun collection of roosters! Her collections have begun new lives, distributed to family and friends all across the country, per her wishes. Terry had a life-long love affair with cats and lived with 2-3 at any given time. Presently, Frankie, Cookie, and Rumpy have all been re-homed to friends who will love them as much as Terry did. She volunteered with Cats Haven, a local shelter for special needs cats, working in their gardens (of course!) and interacting with the many cat residents there. She was a huge fan of auto racing, and spent many a happy evening at the drag races. Living in the land of the Indy 500, she also enjoyed all of the hype surrounding the races.

Per Terry’s request, there will be no service, and interment will occur in Cincinnati, Ohio at a later date.
