Teresa (Nana) Sopke, 75, passed away on May 1, 2022, in Polson, MT. Teresa Sopke was born on February 22, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN, to Chriss Widman and Gloria Borgmann.
Teresa graduated from Bremerton High School in 1965. She started her career as a homemaker and served as a caregiver and secretary at Hans Optical Service. Teresa married Daniel W. Sopke on May 16, 1975, in Greenwood, IN. Teresa had a daughter, Melisa D. Sopke, from her first marriage and two children, Christopher J. Sopke Sr., of Polson, MT, and Nathaniel W. Sopke with Daniel.
Teresa was best known for being a woman of prayer, the glue that held the family together, a sacrificial giver, a lover of cats, an avid reader, and a lover of all things lace.
Teresa is survived by sons, Christopher J. Sopke Sr. of Polson, MT, Nathaniel W. Sopke; grandsons, Christopher J. Sopke Jr., Karl J. W. Sopke; granddaughter, Kristiana G. Sopke; daughter-in-law, Kristi N. Sopke; and brother, Brian K. Borgmann.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Chriss E. Widman; mother, Gloria S. Borgmann; husband, Daniel W. Sopke; brother, Michael T. Borgmann; stepfather, John W. Borgmann Jr.; and daughter, Melisa D. Sopke.
The service for Teresa Sopke will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Franklin Park Church, 7001 S. Arlington Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46237 with visitation starting at 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Teresa will be laid to rest by her husband on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Washington Park East, Indianapolis, IN.
Memorial donations can be made in Teresa's name to New Life Church Polson (Bus Fund).
