It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tammie Michelle Taylor on the early morning of March 1, 2025 after a long and brave journey battling stage 4 breast cancer. Born on March 9, 1969 in Jackson, MS, to Perry Guthrie and Jo Ann Guthrie. She was a beloved and cherished wife, mother, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Shane Taylor of 34 years; her three beautiful children, Amber Fitzgerald, Austin Taylor and Aaron Taylor; her father, Perry Guthrie (Nancy); and her brother Kenny Guthrie (Millie). Tammie was preceded in death by her mother Jo Ann Guthrie.
Tammie was incredibly driven with her career in the hospitality industry, moving up from a hotel front desk agent to the Regional VP of Operations. She had an unwavering commitment to her work, always leading with integrity, dedication, and a spirit that inspired those around her. She was a cherished colleague and friend by all of those she encountered.
Tammie was the heart and soul of her family. Her generosity and full of life personality is what she will be remembered by the most. Christmas was her most treasured time of year when she enjoyed decorating her home, spoiling all of those around her, watching every Christmas movie she could and most of all, spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 26 at 1:30pm at Genesis Church Carmel, 13200 Old Meridian St, Carmel, IN 46032. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to either the GoFundMe set up in her name to cover end of life and medical expenses, or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in her name.
