Syvaline “Granny” Miller, daughter of Henry and Nettie Miller, was born September 17, 1930, in Glasgow, Kentucky. At the age of six her, along with her family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Where she resided for over eighty years.
At an early age she professed a hope in Christ uniting with the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Herbert Sloan Sr. This union was blessed with a daughter, Linda D. Johnson-Fuqua.
Syvaline was affectionately called granny by her family and friends.
Granny worked at the Coca-Cola bottling company for five years, before going on to work for Eugene B. Glick for over thirty years before retiring.
Granny was loved by many for her kind and sweet personality. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Syvaline Miller departed life February 22, 2022, at the age of ninety-one and leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Linda D. Johnson-Fuqua (Carlos Fuqua) her grandson Chaurcey Johnson (Andrea Johnson) and her great-grand kids Shayla Johnson, Alyx Johnson, and Aaliyah Johnson. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers Minnie Allen, Lucy Moss, Inus Miller, Robert Miller, and William Miller.
Visitation will be Friday, February 25, 2022, from 10 am to 11 am at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral services will take place at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Crown Cemetery.
