Sylvia Gates

Sylvia Gates, 54 of Beech Grove, IN, passed away on September 5, 2022 in her home.

Sylvia was born on October 28, 1967 in Heidelburg, Germany to the late Donald and Erika Shaw.

Sylvia enjoyed reading, listening to music, writing poetry, attending concerts, crocheting blankets, taking pictures, camping at the lake, and visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Above all else, Sylvia loved her family and friends more than anything else.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Robert Brent Gates; children, Stephanie Smith and Jordon Gates; grandchildren, Marvin and Mya Smith; brothers, Donald (Wendy) Shaw, David (Shelley) Shaw, and Frank Shaw; and sister-in-law, Lisa Gates Kluesener.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Donald C. and Erika Shaw.

Family and friends can gather on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel from 9:00am - 11:00am. The funeral service will immediately begin at 11:00am, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
