Sylvia Elaine Winn Hubbard was born on September 6, 1961 in Indianapolis, IN. She was the beautiful daughter of Louis Winn, Sr and Willie Mae Winn.
Sylvia, Duchess to her grandchildren, attended IPS, graduating in 1980 from Arlington High School. From there, she attended Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, AL) graduating in 1984 with a B.A. in Business Marketing.
Sylvia married Aubrey A. Hubbard on September 17, 1988. Together, they had 32 years filled with ever growing love. They resided in Indianapolis, 15 years & Longview, TX, 17 years
She held various positions throughout her working career. She blessed Value City Dept. Store (Indianapolis), Wishard Memorial Hospital (Indianapolis), Nieman Marcus (Longview), Good Shepherd Medical Center (Longview), Goody’s Clothing Store (Longview), Convergys (Longview), and LCP Transportation (Indianapolis) as well as others.
She presented herself to The Lord at a young age. She attended Glencoe Missionary Baptist Church (Indianapolis), Rhema Church of the Living God (Indianapolis), Bible Teaching Ministries (Longview), Red Oak Missionar5y Baptist Church (Longview), and New Fellowship Family Church (Indianapolis).
Sylvia (aka “The First”) had a loving, joyful, kind, and gentle soul. She did not meet any strangers. When you met her, you were going to be a friend whether you wanted too or not. Plus, she was going to make you laugh.
Sylvia was called home on July 8, 2021, at the age of 59 years, 9 months, 7 days & 7 and ½ hours. She courageously battled several medical issues for 17+ years. She was at home when this beautiful passing took place. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Anthony Winn.
Sylvia departed leaving her most cherished memories with her mother, her husband, sons, Khody Terrell Tavon Hubbard & Nathan Louis Leroy Hubbard, daughter, Mikayleh Sylvia Shontaye Hubbard, and grandchildren: Derek Cox, Khloe Hubbard, Khyrie Hubbard, Khali Hubbard, and Londyn Parker, brother, Louis Winn, Jr, sister, Sharon Moore, and a multitude of family and friends.
