Steven J. Kinder

STEVEN J. KINDER of Fishers, IN passed away surrounded by family at the age of 64 on Monday, March 18, 2024.

Steve grew up in Carmel and graduated from Carmel High School in 1978.  Soon after, he eagerly learned the electrical business, which led to him and his brother, David, forming Kinder Electric Co. in 1985.  The contracting company has been in business for 39 years and counting.

Steve loved time with friends, boating, and trips to Florida.  He was a long-time fan of the Indianapolis Colts as well as various motor sports.  He enjoyed maintaining a beautiful landscape for his home and lived life the way he preferred.

Steve is survived by his wonderful wife Lori; sons Austin (wife Katy) and Nick; siblings David (wife Judy) and Carole; and several nieces and nephews.  Steve is preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Ruth M. Kinder, and sister Janice Zapapas.

Services will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Geist Christian Church (Mud Creek Campus), 8550 Mud Creek Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46256 with visitation from 1pm - 2pm, with funeral immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) or to Geist Christian Church.
