Steven Adcock, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 10, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, Steven lived a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments.
A proud graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana, Steven dedicated many years of his life serving his country in the Army National Guard, where he retired after 20 years as a Cook. His career continued as a Journeyman Pressman at the Indianapolis Star News, where he made an indelible impact with his hard work and commitment.
Steven was known for his mischievous personality, often the jokester in every gathering. Those who knew him remember the sparkle in his eye and the warmth of his humor that could brighten anyone’s day. He held a deep love for his wife and best friend, Jo Ellen “Joey” and together they built a legacy of love and joy that shaped their family's lives.
Family gatherings were a hallmark of Steven's life, along with playing poker, fishing, and attending auctions. His passion for family brought each other closer, and he cherished every opportunity to bond with them. Steven took immense delight in spending time with his grandkids— Hailey, Kyann, Skyla, Trevor (with Trinity), Erica (with Luke), Nolan (with Josie), Red, and Oliver, — and held a special place in his heart for his great-grandson, Baylor.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Joey; daughter, Samantha; son, Tommy (with Elena); daughter, Bridgett; and son-in-law, Chad. Steven's siblings—Michael (with Vicky) Adcock, Billy Adcock, Terry (with Larry) Jones, Nina (with Duane) Schmidt, and Kelly (with Julie Webster) Adcock—along with his sister-in-law, Margie Adcock, and niece, Misty Jacobs, will treasure the memories they shared with him, along with several other nieces and nephews.
Steven is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Mayme Adcock, and his children, Stevie, Nicole, and Brian. He is also reunited with his siblings, Ramona Adcock, Ricky D., and Jimmy (with Carol) Adcock, and Susie McDonald.
His memory will be honored at a memorial gathering on March 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM, both taking place at Nineveh Christian Church, located at 1261 E. 775 S., Nineveh, IN 46164.
As we remember Steven Adcock, we celebrate a man who lived life to the fullest, filled hearts with laughter, and built a loving legacy that will endure through generations. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
