Stephen Ray Thompson, 70, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 4, 1953, to Robert and Elsie Thompson, in Noblesville IN, and throughout his life, Stephen touched the lives of many with his remarkable qualities. He possessed a unique breadth of knowledge, with a little understanding of everything he encountered. His down-to-earth sense of humor, kindness, and honor endeared him to all who knew him. Stephen dedicated himself to his family, community, and country, serving as a proud flight engineer in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Stephen embarked on a diverse professional journey. He served as a police officer in southern Delaware, embodying the principles of service and protection. Later, he explored the open road as a truck driver, traversing the country. Stephen's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish a successful property management company in the Chesapeake Bay area, where he thrived for a decade. Returning to Indiana, Stephen transitioned to a role with Nestlé as a UHD operator, contributing his skills to a renowned company. He later found joy in assisting customers at Home Depot in Greenfield, Indiana, on a part-time basis, fulfilling his passion for helping others.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, his sons Tony, Richard, Samuel, and Stephen, his daughters Katherine, Kristine, and Meta, along with 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Stephen is also survived by his brothers Jerry, Scott, and David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elsie Thompson, his brother Jim, and his sons Nicholas and Jonathan.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Stephen Ray Thompson on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, with services at 4:00pm, at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN, 46250.
