Stanley R. Stoltz, 76 of Lawrence, Indiana passed away in his home on November 28th, 2019.
Born on January 16th, 1943 in Olney, Illinois to Ronald and Janetta Stoltz. He served 4 years in the Army, living in Germany for a while. He always said he wanted to go back. He gave 31 years of his life to Ford Motor Company, working in many different departments. He retired in 1998. Stanley graduated high school in 1961, he was one of a class of 11 from Marrowbone, Kentucky.
October 24th, 1966, he married Jeanette LaVerne Schwoeppe in Shawneetown, Il. They just recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary in October with a dinner date at Texas Roadhouse. Unfortunately, this was the last time Stanley was able to get out of his home. He loved going out to eat and talking to everyone in the restaurant, whether he knew them or not.
Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and bowling. He would take annual hunting trips with his friends to Iowa to pheasant and quail hunt. His fishing trips were with his wife usually to Kentucky Lake in the summer and Michigan in the fall. He loved fishing for salmon in Michigan with LaVerne. They loved traveling together. Their last adventure was a 2-week drive to Las Vegas and back to Indianapolis. Taking their time to stop and see the United States. He also loved going to the casino and would have went with anyone if they asked. Stanley bowled one 300 game in his lifetime. Stanley began bowling in the army while he was stationed in Germany and that carried over to Indiana where he bowled in many leagues. His love for bowling has passed on to his 5 grandchildren.
Stanley was an organ donor. His family has already received a letter telling them his gift has helped other people. This is how he lived his life, always helping any way he could. He knew no stranger.
Along with his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert (Larry) Stoltz and Michael Stoltz.
He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; 2 daughters: Kim (David) Benslay, Christi Stoltz; 5 grandchildren: David Benslay II, Ryan Benslay, Andrew Benslay, Jeanette Socks, Stanley Socks and 1 great grandson: David Charlie. He is also survived by one sister, Donna Copeland.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, December 14th from 3pm-6pm at Camp Belzer located at 6102 Boy Scout Road in Lawrence.
