Stanley Gene Crawford

Stanley Gene Crawford, 81, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away at his home after a long battle with lung cancer on Monday, March 17, 2025. He was born on August, 7, 1943 to John Will and Delia Jane Crawford in Burkesville, KY. He graduated from Manuel High School in Indianapolis, IN in 1962 before serving six years in the air force reserves. He went on to marry Joyce Ann Johnson on June 25, 1966. Gene and Joyce welcomed two sons into the world whom they loved dearly, John Ross and Daniel J. They were happily married for 52 years before Joyce passed in 2018 from lung cancer.

Gene spent most of his career working at Johnson Engineering as a tool and die maker for over 45 years. Gene was a very hard worker, who was proud to provide for his family. He was very active in the bowling community; and spent most nights of the week with his wife and boys in various leagues. He was the Tuesday Night Men’s League secretary at All-Star Bowl for over 20 years.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents John and Delia Crawford, and wife Joyce. He will be sadly missed by his sister Barb Estes (husband Bob) of Indianapolis, IN, sons Ross (wife Emily) of Muncie, IN, and Danny (wife Cici) of Goose Creek, SC, granddaughters Holly Tumey (husband Joey), Laci Thomas, Kyla Nguyen, Abby Nguyen, and grandsons, Jay Crawford, James Crawford, and Josh Crawford, along with great granddaughter Zoe Crawford.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Indiana Funeral Care at 8151 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:30pm-7:30pm; with funeral service immediately following at 7:30pm.
