Sonja Marie Hicks

Sonja Marie Hicks (Blount) passed peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on October 19, 1971 to Sylvia Hardy and Dennis Blount.

She graduated from LaSalle High School and kept work in medical and office professions throughout the years. As a child, Sonja was very active with her music and played the cello and the violin and had an amazing ability to draw, sketch, and do calligraphy.

Sonja had a deep love for her family. She was extremely close to her mother and spent a lot of her time with her grandchildren, she was always a joy to be around, and kept many friends and acquaintances because of her caring and bubbly personality. Co-workers, friends and family always felt the need to confide in her because she knew how to listen and be there for others. Sonja was always a strong and kind-hearted woman and touched the lives of everyone’s path that she crossed.

Sonja leaves to mourn her mother (Sylvia Hardy), daughter (Cassie Blount), son (Damon Williams), brother (Davon Hardy), husband (Gregory Hicks), her three grandchildren (Aniya, Avin, and Aylin), aunt (Elizabeth Hardy), close friend (Roy Moseley) and her remaining friends and family.

A memorial service will be at 2pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. Visitation prior to service from 1pm-2pm.
