Shirley Mae Dobbs

Shirley M. Dobbs (McElyea), 86 of Fishers IN passed Monday March 1, 2021. Shirley was born to the late Ruth and Clyde McElyea in Stonega, VA on January 2, 1935. She graduated form Appalachia High School in 1952. On Feb 4, 1956 she married Billy Dobbs and moved to Indianapolis. Shirley retired from Hook Drug in 1994 where she was an accounting associate.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting. She was an avid animal lover and is survived by her canine companion, Gizmo. Shirley loved spending time with her granddaughters, loved to travel with family particularly to the beach, and in later years to the casino. Shirley enjoyed church and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Indianapolis.
Shirley is survived by her children: Joni Hurst (Robert), Randy Dobbs (Beth), 5 granddaughters, Rachel, Libbie, Lauren, Nicole & Emily, and 3 great grandchildren, Adaline, Everett & Sophie.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her husband: Billy Dobbs, Daughter Patricia Hepley, Sister Lucille Dean, and Brothers Benny McElyea, Dan Herron.
