Shirley Lorraine (Fox) Aldenderfer, passed on to the Kingdom of God on November 29, 2020. She is the daughter of Earl James Fox and Thelma Ethel (Strausser) Fox and was born on October 3, 1935 in Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Hamburg High School, attended the Conservatory of Music of Susquehanna University in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania and graduated with a BA degree from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. She went to work for the US government where she met and married her husband Charles (better known as Pete) Aldenderfer. Later, while raising a family she earned a Master’s degree in English from Eastern Kentucky University.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Pete; daughter, Phyllis Diane (Aldenderfer) Carter and her husband Steve; son, Peter David Aldenderfer and his wife Marquita; grandchildren, Stephanie Ann (Carter) Ours, Jacob Austin Carter; great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Michael Ours; brother, Earl James Fox, Jr.
Shirley loved God, our country, her husband, family, music, and all things of nature, trees, flowers, the mountains and oceans, dogs, cats, and horses. Shirley had a lovely radiant smile that charmed everyone she met, especially Pete.
Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2020 from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 East Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
Burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood, Indiana.
