Sammy was a kind and fun-loving man, who was always ready to have a good time no matter where he was or who he was with. He would welcome you in and then let the good times roll. There was always a great time to be had when Sammy walked into the room.
Sammy passed peacefully at his home on September 20, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born on July 5, 1948, to James and Talega Doolin and was the apple of his mother’s eye. Sammy grew up on the south side of Indianapolis and graduated from Greenwood High School. Sammy was an electrician and small business owner right after graduating, but then found his real passion in music. He started his own band and the rest he would say is history. After retiring from the music business, Sammy enjoyed nothing more than jumping on his Harley and hitting the road with all his many friends.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie; daughters, Sandee, and Mindy; his sons, John-Paul, Sammy James, David, and Austin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Sammy will be cremated per his wishes and a celebration of life will follow in July of 2025 near his birthday. Until we meet again Sammy-Hooty Ho and see you on the other side of the sunset.
