Ruth Louise Norton Romesser was born March 3, 1929 in Batavia, New York, and was the oldest of three children of Clifford and Hazel Condit Norton. She grew up in and around Warsaw. As a teenager, she enjoyed working at a local ice cream shop.
She married Andy Romesser, also from Warsaw, on January 8, 1949. They had three boys and had just settled into their new house when Andy’s company, P. R. Mallory, transferred him to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1961. The house they moved to in Indianapolis would be her home for the next 58 years. She worked for the local school district as a secretary for various offices and finally as the director of school bus transportation. Her husband Andy lost his battle with cancer in 1991. In her retirement years she enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Ruth is survived by her three sons. Jim and Pam Romesser currently in process of moving to Georgia. They have three children, Kimberly and Jessie Raner of Georgia with their three children, Kevin of California and Andrea of Maryland. Gary Romesser lives in Florida close to his two sons. Nick and Nikki with their two children and Adam. Mark and Paula Romesser, currently of Utah and their three children, Aaron and Jill with four children, Nathan of Nebraska with three children, and Emily and Tyler Brown with their four children.
Ruth is predeceased by her grandson, Allan, who has two children, and also her brother, Robert Norton, and her sister, Shirley Forrester.
