Russel Roof Jr. 76, of Westfield, IN. passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020. Russel was known as Junior. Junior was born to the late Della and Russel Roof on June 3, 1943 in Scott County, VA.
Junior graduated from Church Hill High School in Church Hill TN. He joined the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1967. Junior has five sisters, Lily Kimbler, Kingspoint, TN, Peggy Short, Little Rock, AK, Frances Dawson of PA, Marjorie Beckler, Little Rock, AK, Judy Mann, Kingsport, TN, one brother; Jerry Roof, Port Charlotte, FL, and eleven nieces and nephews . Junior had one son (Deceased) Jeff Brian Roof, one step-son; Kenneth Peacock(Lorraine)Indianapolis, IN, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and 6 great grandchildren.
Junior married the love of his life Judy Roof on June 19, 1970, they would have been celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. He attended Ivy Tech. Junior worked about 20 years at Alloy Ring Service in Carmel, IN. He also worked for the State of Indiana for several years. His favorite job was landscaping. He loved the outdoors. He loved to deer hunting, bowling, coin collecting, comic books, old guns and toy cars and trucks. He really enjoyed life and helping people. He had a very kind heart and will be deeply missed by his wife and many family and friends.
