Rosemary, also know as “Peaches” graduated from Marco High School located in Marco, Indiana in 1943. She then moved to Chicago and worked there until she met and married Benjamin C. Chambers. They were married in Killeen, Texas on August 20, 1944, at North Camp Hood. They had two children, Benjamin R. Chambers and Debra (Debi) S. (Chambers) David. Her husband Ben Proceeded her in death on January 1, 1980.

Rosemary remarried on July 24, 1969, to James F. Rutan Sr. They were married for fourteen contented years before he passed away on February 28, 1983.

Rosemary worked for Eli Lilly and Company for 22 years. She chose to retire in December 1973 because her and Fred (James) wanted to move to Florida, and they did in February 1974.

After moving to Florida, she worked in the gift shop at the Kapok Tree for a while. Want a job more challenging she decided to work for Clearwater Savings and Loan. She worked there for 10 years and retired at the age of 62.

At this point Rosemary really desired to do something she thought would make a difference and would help others, since she had volunteered to be a “Gray Lady” at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis years before and really enjoyed it. Rosemary successfully completed and approved Nursing Assistant Program. She was certified as a Nursing Assistant for employment in nursing homes. She also worked private duty for another 15 years.

Rosemary was beautiful and so much fun! She was so excited when she bought her a new car, a 1987 Chevrolet Caprice which she drove for 28 years.

When she was younger, she played the piano She absolutely loved dancing, watching movies that were “True Stories.” She also enjoyed going to Horse Races, Dog Races and Jai Alai with her kids and their spouses.

Anytime family visited her she would play games and even introduce them to new games. She really enjoyed the oldies but goodies music and lot of laughter. It was not a surprise when she would say “Let’s go shopping and out to eat.”
