Ronnie Lee Roy Diggs, Sr., 47, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12th, 2022 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March, 27th, 1974 to Ronnie Diggs and Mary (Diggs) Burton.
Ronnie was an avid sports fan. He was passionate about coaching his kids in the sports in which they participated. There was never a day that went by that Ronnie didn’t brag about his kids. His favorite sport was wrestling and he loved to show off his wrestling photo that is still showcased at Decatur Central Middle School. Ronnie was solely a family man, his world revolved around those he cared for and loved. He never knew a stranger and loved to make everyone laugh. He loved a good dare, especially when it involved competition. Anyone that knew him knew he had a huge heart. He’d give you anything even if it wasn’t his to give. He loved fiercely and we take comfort in knowing he now is at peace surrounded by light.
Ronnie is survived by his father, Ronnie Diggs and step-mother Janine Diggs; his mother, Mary Burton and step-father Edward Burton; his former spouse, Lorie (Diggs) Dial; his three children, Ronnie (Shania) Diggs Jr., Brooklyn Diggs, and stepson Tyler McVey; his two grandchildren, Nathan Benson and Harper McVey; his brother, Richard Diggs; his sister, Rebecca (Derrick) Shores; his two nephews, Lucas Diggs and Brayden Ferguson; his two nieces Teara Keeling and Mackenzie Diggs; and his great nephew, Logan Fisk.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood. A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022 from 10am to 12pm and Pastor Kipp Glenn will officiate. The family invites you to share your favorite memory, send an online condolence, or light a light candle in Ronnie’s memory on the online obituary page.
