Ronald Peter Povinelli

Ronald Peter Povinelli, 78, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024.

He was born on June 18, 1946, in Indianapolis to Rosina (Fabis) and Anselmo Povinelli, who both proceeded him in death.

Ron graduated from St. Bernadette in 1960 and Scecina High School in 1964. He then served in the U.S. Army, 2nd Armored Division, during the Vietnam War Stateside. Ron married Cheryl Sue (Chaney) Povinelli on June 13, 1966, who survives him. He studied accounting at Indiana University and was a local businessman in the auto industry, owning Circle City Enterprises since 1976.

Ron was a member of Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and playing bocce.

Ron is survived by his wife Cheryl; children, Pam (Robert) Elsby of Erie, Colorado, Ronald Ray (Susan) Povinelli of Shelbyville; siblings, Raymond (Beverly), Roberta (Tom) Vincent (Donna) all of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren, Abby, Allison, Braydon Povinelli, Grace and Olivia Elsby. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the organization of your choice or to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. 

Private family mass was held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Burial immediately followed at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
