Ron Graef left this world peacefully on November 13th at the age of 92 from complications of pneumonia and Covid. He was preceded in death by his first wife Grace Ellis Graef and by his parents Evangeline née Schneider and Lester Graef of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife Louise Dunn Graef, daughters Renée Graef (Bruce Malm), Rhonda Graef, and Holly Graef, sons Gregory Graef (Pamela) and David Graef, grandchildren Maggie Laughner and Max Laughner, and brother Gerald and sister-in-law Arlyle Graef.
Ron was proud to have been employed by Delco Electronics for forty-one years as a Senior Electronics Technician in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and Kokomo, Indiana. He was especially pleased to have worked on one of the Apollo Space missions as part of his work with Delco.
Ron was a resourceful man with a sharp mind and a knack for fixing things. He often used his creativity to modify and improve the homes in which he lived. He transferred his resourcefulness to his children, and loved teaching them how to do things for themselves.
Some of Ron’s favorite activities over the years, in addition to spending time with his beloved family, included playing accordion and keyboard, and singing with the church choir. He had a beautiful voice and often sang in his younger years. He enjoyed playing scrabble, solving jigsaw puzzles, and playing and watching golf. Like his father, he truly enjoyed baking, and relished making Christmas cookies and biscotti for friends and family.
Ron was an unfailing support to his wife Rev. Louise Dunn, first as a founding member of The Church Within in Indianapolis and in her teaching and life coaching ministry. He was also a member of Unity of Indianapolis.
A Celebration of Life for Ron will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to your favorite animal rescue shelter.
