Roger Kent Latham, 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital.
Roger was born Saturday, December 19, 1959, to the late Willard and Della (Bell) Latham in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Roger was a hardworking man. He loved working at Petros tires, changing tires for many years. His father told him at the age of five to unbolt the bolts from the engine and ever since that day Roger found his love for working on vehicles and becoming a mechanic as well. Rogers’s favorite hobbies were camping and fishing on a beautiful day anytime he had a chance. He would try and cast a pole and see what bites on the other end. He said nothing beats the smell of fresh air on a day off with a rod in one hand and an ice-cold beer in the other.
Roger was a huge Colt’s fan, all the time, win or lose. On game day he would always sit on the couch, put his feet up and whistle really loud because he was so excited and had full of enjoyment for the game. Roger also loved his dogs so much he loved taking them on McDonald’s bye-bye rides and made sure they got a cheeseburger for themselves as well. Nothing put a bigger smile on Roger’s face to make sure that his puppy was very happy with that cheeseburger. He also loved to get sandwiches at McDonald’s for his grandkids as well. Roger was the sweetest man you would ever meet; he would give you anything and everything even if it was the jacket off of his back or the shoes that he walked in. He was a very loving and caring man his favorite restaurant was Aunt Polly’s. He would order it every day. But out of everything, Roger loved his family more than anything in the world.
Roger is survived by his children, Tessa Hager and her husband Josh, Roger Latham and his wife Heather, Johnny Latham; brother, Kenny Latham; sisters, Debbie Farris, Sharon Luttrell; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with another arriving in December and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Orban Latham, and Della (Bell) Latham, and brothers, John Latham, Wayne Latham, Charles Latham, Gary Latham, and Danny Latham.
