Rodger D. Clark, 71 passed away on March 15, 2020. RD, as he was affectionately known, was born on July 3, 1948 to Thomas and Norma Clark.
RD served our country in the US Army during Vietnam (1966-70). He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
RD also served his community as a Firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire Department from 1970 to 1994. He served at several IFD stations, finally retiring as a Corporal at Station 12.
RD loved fishing, golfing, and watching football.
He is survived his stepmother, Betty L. Clark; sisters, Melinda K. Epperson, Mary A. Clark-Haase, and Susan C. Bachelle; and many other family members and friends. RD was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia (nee Bayrd) Clark; his twin brother, Robert W. Clark; and his parents, Thomas Clark and Norma Bachelle
A private service will be announced at a later date, as well as a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in RD's memory to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/donate).
