Robert Souders Jr.

July 10, 1943 — June 14, 2024

Robert E. Souders Jr., affectionately known as Bobby, a retired mail carrier from the US Postal Service in Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 14, 2024. Bobby was born on July 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Robert Souders Sr. and Anna Mae Souders.

Throughout his life, Bobby savored the simple pleasures of boating, skiing, and fishing, often camping at Hardin Ridge on Lake Monroe. A dedicated individual, Bobby served six years in the Indiana National Guard.

Bobby was a man of companionship and found solace in his African Gray parrot named Joe, who shared his home and heart for an impressive 54 years. Their bond was unique, as Joe's voice echoed Bobby's, becoming a source of comfort and joy to Bobby.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Donald Borton; niece, Sharon Stoots; and great-nephews, Sam and Nathan. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Borton; and nephew, Donald Borton Jr.
