Robert C Pagel

Robert "Bob" Pagel, 97, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis to William and Ella (Taylor) Pagel on April 19, 1925.

Bob joined the Navy on August 30, 1943, and served as an aviation machinist mate through the war, until May 15, 1946. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School and took a few college courses. In 1947, he met Genevieve Morford and they were married June 13, 1947. Bob became a sales rep for Arrow Supply Co, selling to mechanics and automotive companies in the county.  Through his work, he befriended a number of Indy 500 personnel, most notably chief mechanic A J Watson, who enlisted his help on a number of race cars through the years.  He was always there to help his family, no matter what.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Sandy; daughter in law, Linda (Ollie) Matthews; granddaughters, Laura Pagel, and Mandy (Tim) Meggenhofen; six great grandchildren, Brianna and Brayden Pagel, Jocelyn, Jaylen, and McKenzie Meggenhofen and Rachel Ware; and two great-great grandchildren, Joshua Ware and Sage Redmond.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, and son, Ron.
