Robert James Neils passed away on Monday, September 6, 2022 In Indianapolis, IN with loved ones at his side following a hard-fought battle with esophageal cancer.

 

Born in Milwaukee, WI on May 22, 1964 to Carol {nee Heup} and Elwin Neils, Bob attended Richfield Elementary in Richfield WI with High School in Hartford WI graduating in 1982. He graduated from UW Milwaukee in 1987 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon Graduation, Bob was employed with Rust Environmental in Sheboygan for 4 years. During that time he met the love of his life, Jose Alcantar. Bob became partner at Donahue and Associates in Sheboygan in 2004 and left WI to join the Indianapolis operation. Jose and Bob married in 2014. Bob retired in 2021.

 

Bob loved racing, attending the Indy 500 yearly. Although his “baby” was a collector 1996 Camaro Z28, it now played second fiddle to his newest toy, a fire-engine red 2021 Corvette Stingray. Bob and his father Elwin spent wonderful time together during their annual walleye fishing trip to Canada

 

Beside a love of cars, Bob's faithful dog companions Abby and new pal Roxy are his best buddies.

 

Surviving members include husband Jose Alcantar of Carmel, IN, mother Carol

Neils of Huburtus, WI, brother Henry {Debbie “Chick”} Neils, step-nephew Grant Johnson all of Jefferson, WI, nephew Alexander {Molly} Neils of New Berlin. Bob was predeceased by his father Elwin Neils.

 

Commemoration for Bob will be at Harry W. Moore Chapel 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN with visitation from 9:00- 10:30 with service at 10:30 There will be no graveside service.

 

Memorials may be made to Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation.
