Robert L “Bob” Hoffman, 58, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2021. The youngest of five children, Bob was born July 15, 1962 to Doris and Hubert Hoffman in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from John Marshall High School in June 1980. He went on to study environmental health at Purdue University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in May 1984. After graduation, Bob started his career in nuclear science working in such places as Tennessee, New York, and Idaho. At the time of his death he had spent 13 years working in Idaho National Lab as a research and development engineer scientist. Bob loved the Indy 500 and was an avid fan of auto racing. He enjoyed skiing and traveling across the country. Bob was also a very talented musician. He played keyboards, organ, and saxophone. Bob was a member of WaterSprings Church in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brother Garry. Survivors include sisters, Sharon (Mike) Henselmeier and Karen Hoffman; brother, Rick Hoffman; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Tim) Jorczak, Shelli (David) Koger, Carrie (Mark) Kerszka, Joshua Hoffman and Douglas (Leigh) Hoffman; and several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:30am-1:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, with a funeral to follow at 1:00pm. Bob will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
