Robert Bruce Enoch, 82, known as Bob, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday February 16, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bob was born on December 6th, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Robert & Florence (Seibel) Enoch. Born the middle child, Bob grew up with an older brother, John, and his younger brother, Mark.
Bob graduated from North Central High School where he played football. Musically inclined, Bob played guitar and keyboard. During summers, he enjoyed learning to sail at the Culver Military Academy’s Sailing Camp. He attended Indiana University with a major in Business and was a member of the ATO Fraternity. Bob shared stories and many laughs about good times in his fraternity days. Bob also served in the Army.
Bob kept himself in great shape. He was known to wake up and complete sets of crunches, pushups, and leg lifts, all before brushing his teeth. He loved to run, lift weights, and kept up his gym membership. Bob would be the person enjoying the burger without the bun, and a no sugar cookie, but he didn’t hold back enjoying the German cuisine of his heritage! Always a sports enthusiast, Bob followed NASCAR, the NFL and NBA, and was a special fan of the Indiana Colts and teams at Texas Tech and OU. Bob was an avid gardener and loved to share his prized Lily garden. Choosing a vacation place, Bob often returned to the beauty of Aspen, Colorado and the beaches of Marco Island, FL. Bob was a man of faith, and in later years tuned into his favorite Pastor’s, The Reverend Charles Stanley, Sunday church service from home.
A smart, kind, and caring person with a great sense of humor, Bob made many friends. His gregarious personality supported a successful lifelong career as a commercial real estate broker and consultant. Later in retirement, he became interested in learning Spanish. He hired a tutor and eventually authored a Spanish language children’s book, Tomas y Sus Perros, published February 21, 2023 - a story about a boy and his grandfather who run a ranch together in the era of the Old West.
Bob was an extremely devoted father to daughters Gretchen and Quinn, and grandchildren Rylan and Jacob, and a loving husband to his wife Sheila. Bob’s little dog, Jessie, was always at his side and he always made a spot for her.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sheila Enoch; daughters Gretchen (Kirby) and Quinn (David), and two grandchildren, Rylan and Jacob.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Florence Enoch and his siblings John & Mark Enoch.
A memorial service will be held on March 11, 2025 at 12pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm. Memorial contributions may be made to ARPO (Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership) and the American Cancer Society in Bob’s honor.
