Richard 'Rick' Brown

Richard (Rick) F. Brown, 74, died at his home in Indianapolis on January 19, 2021. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Springer Brown, his son Mike (Elizabeth), daughter Jenny (Richard) Welker, grandsons Cam and Wes Brown and granddaughter Taylor Welker.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother Joanne Bleck Gabbard, stepfather Taylor Gabbard and brother Ted Brown.

Rick was proud to have served in the United States Air Force from 1964-68. He graduated from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. The majority of his career was spent at General Motors Corporation and Cabot Corporation in the information technology field.

Rick was always interested in helping the youth of our community, serving as a Big Brother, a member of the Indianapolis Police Athletic League (PAL), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the board of the Lutheran Child and Family Services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rick's memory may be made to the Foundation for Lutheran Child and Family Services -1525 N. Ritter Avenue, Indianapolis IN 46219, or a charity of your choice. A celebration of Rick's life will take place at a later date.
